Moving Through Seasons

Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall. Which season is your favorite? I love everything about Fall. The bright, crisp days, the turning of the leaves from green to vibrant yellow, orange and deep red. The sense of accomplishment of the first half of the year and the readiness to hunker down for the shorter days ahead.

As we celebrate the seasons of the earth we realize that life has many seasons. Seasons that come and go. Some that are long and others that are much too short. Many of us are in a season of letting go. Some of us have been through this season before and find ourselves in the last of its kind. For some this is your first experience in this season.

Even as God has been preparing me over the last five years I find this final season one of the hardest. Yet, I know He will never leave me nor forsake me. The season of empty nesting is both sad and exciting at the same time. If you find yourself in this season I encourage you to embrace it as gladly as you do your favorite season of the year!

Precious One, your identity is found in Christ not the season.

Shalom!

Re-born to Walk in Victory

fullsizeoutput_cc2

Have you ever gotten into your car turned the key and nothing? No click, no sound, only silence. You realize you most likely have a dead battery. The solution is a new battery. In the meantime a jump start may bring the dead battery back to life.

Over the last several months my time with Jesus has not been the vibrant, exciting, can’t wait to meet with Him time it has been in seasons past. I have known for quite some time that I needed a jump start, something to propel me into new territory with Him.

Today I had the amazing opportunity to attend a small intimate gathering of women and learn some new and valuable ways to enter into some very sweet time with Him. I experienced Jesus on a new glory plane. As is His nature, he went above and beyond anything I can ever ask or imagine. He showed me wounds from my childhood that I didn’t realize were within me. He walked me through healing and reminded me of my identity and authority in Him.

He increased my freedom!

My prayer for you is that you would ask Jesus to meet you in new and unexpected ways and teach you to simply sit in His presence, listen for His voice and draw you ever closer through His word.

Shalom!

Go in Peace

fullsizeoutput_cbe

God has been speaking to my heart about the removal of grave clothes (more on that later) and healing. I was praying for a friend this morning and the Holy Spirit brought to mind the many times Jesus said, “Go in peace your faith has healed you.” My prayer today is for more of His faith to believe and His grace to accept whatever that healing looks like, not only personally but for the entire Body of Christ, for our Nation and the world.

Precious One, go in peace and may His faith, given to you to believe, heal you.

Shalom!

Words

Learning is a privilege. Consider all the people around the world who do not have access to teachers and curriculum, especially girls in some areas where learning is against the law. A travesty to say the least.

Learning subjects such as language, math and social sciences helps us to form our world view and engage in intelligent conversation. While learning is a privilege we have always taught our children to not believe everything they read. Simply because it is printed in a book does not make it true. We have taught them not to gloss over what they don’t agree with but to dig deeper and understand why they don’t agree. Believe me when I tell you, as young adults, this approach has created some very spirited conversations and I wouldn’t have it any other way.! I love to experience their minds at work and ask the Holy Spirit to help me understand their point of view and to give me His kind and gentle words when I have an opposing view.

As students of God’s word we don’t need anyone to teach us His word. Yes, God has gifted us with pastors and teachers to help us understand His word but allow me to give you this to ponder. It begins with us. Our responsibility is to open God’s word, and often, and allow His word to speak to us. To learn by the power of the Holy Spirit all the goodness within His word.

God’s word is alive and active, (Hebrews 4:12), yes, you can have a relationship with God’s word because Jesus is the word of God. God’s word is good for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, (2Timothy 3:16), the question is will you allow His word to do all these things for you?

Precious One, God’s word speaks to you and you know God’s voice (John 10:27).

Are you listening?

Shalom!

What do you Have to Lose?

fullsizeoutput_cb9

Going to the store always involves a list for me. Lists ensure that I won’t forget all the items I want to buy. Sometimes our walk of faith can become a list checking frenzy. Causing us to check off our time with God like a grocery list when it isn’t about a list but a relationship.

The old and new, law and grace. One give us a set of guidelines speaking to us of our need of a Savior and the other gives us the desire to live for Him because of the power that raised Him from the dead the power of the Holy Spirit.

Law and Grace walking hand in hand alive and relevant today as the day God breathed them into existence. Even the prophets have not been abolished. All remain until the day that Jesus returns to set all things right according to His will and righteousness.

Precious One please do not wait to allow the law to shower you with its knowledge of the Savior. The longer you wait draws closer to being too late. And what you have to lose is eternity.

Shalom!

Calling all Generations

fullsizeoutput_ca9

He looked down from His holy heights—
the Lord gazed out from heaven to earth—
to hear a prisoner’s groaning,
to set free those condemned to die,
so that they might declare
the name of Yahweh in Zion
and His praise in Jerusalem,
when peoples and kingdoms are assembled
to serve the Lord Psalm 102:19-22.

Let’s be that future generation that wasn’t yet created when these words of truth were breathed into existence. Let’s be the Church and arise across denominational lines and theological differences to praise the One true God. Let’s raise our voices as one and declare His name, which is Yahweh in Zion. Let’s be a people that includes all with one purpose…to serve the Lord.

Shalom!

Every Life

fullsizeoutput_c1a

When I was in elementary school I had a great group of friends, even still, I was teased. Today we would call it bullying.

God and I have completely worked through this but I wonder how many years of image shame could have been avoided had I been seen as created in the image of God? True, elementary aged children most likely don’t understand this concept. But you see, it starts with us. With the Body of Christ.

How many of us in the Body blatantly or inadvertently shame others simply because they don’t yet believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior? Raising my hand here because I am a former legalistic queen, that is, until God opened my eyes to His unending grace. What would it look like if believers around the world joined together as one and viewed every single human being as created in His image? The lies of piousness and holier than thou would fade away and be replaced with who God is––Love.

Tether yourself daily to Jesus and He will tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. (Jeremiah 33:3). Tuck these truths into your heart, write them on 3×5 cards and beautiful scraps of paper, placing them around your house and carry them with you wherever you go, but most importantly, teach them to your children, your children’s children and to every generation you are blessed to be alive for.

Teach them that all humankind is made in the image of God, therefore God loves His entire creation and so ought we.

Shalom!
