The Best Part

The cares of this world are the cares of this world but when we choose the better part the cares of this world are the cares of this world.

He Calms the Storms

fullsizeoutput_eb4.jpeg

I am thankful for the storms of life because they cause my wayward heart to turn toward Jesus with an opportunity to trust Him more. Storms whip up my faith and remind me of God’s promises. Jesus rebukes the wind and tells the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Are you telling God how big the storms are in your life or are you telling the storms how big, mighty and powerful your God is?

He Sings Over You

For as much as the Old Testament is filled with violence, rules and regulations, it is also filled with the sweetness of His love. He is with you, He saves you, He takes delight in you and He rejoices over you with singing. Imagine that, God sings!

Shalom!

A Different Perspective

fullsizeoutput_e92

Twice this morning I had conversations about the Israelites leaving Egypt. About their grumbling after their deliverance and their desire to have been left in Egypt even though Egypt meant slavery to them that was better than stepping out into the unknown where God called them by faith. In the unknown they had to completely rely on God to provide food and water for them, which He did and yet they grumbled.

The poignant point of the story Don’t Go Back To Egypt, regardless of how familiar and ‘comfortable’ that may be. I wonder if you might take a look at a different perspective?

When the Israelites left Egypt God caused them to plunder the Egyptians right before their eyes, a miracle in itself, by asking for the Egyptians gold, silver and clothes, which they gave to the Israelites without question.

Perspective shift – God blessed the Israelites as they walked out of Egypt. He BLESSED them. He blessed them as the left a place of slavery and walked into a place of faith.
Precious One, God longs to bless you in ways unimaginable. The only thing required by you is to take that first step in faith into what may be unknown to you but completely known to God and His will for you. And by all means remember to praise, thank and worship God.

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18.

Blessings from Adversity

fullsizeoutput_e34

Oftentimes, blessings find their birth inside adversity. Life this side of heaven is tough. Many times things go wrong more often than they go right. But when we choose to hang out with God He leads us in the right direction where everything goes right according to his will and we are filled with His peace, joy and comfort regardless of our current situation.

Choose peace, choose Jesus.

Shalom!

In Order That

In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:11,12.

And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:6,7.

Our stories are important because it displays God’s manifest glory of what He has done and is doing in our life and He creates the opportunity for us to share our personal message with others in hope that they too will freely choose Him.

Twice in the first two chapters of Ephesians we read “in order that.” We were predestined by God’s plan to have the gospel message shared with us and by our free will choose Jesus. When we did we were raised up with Christ and are seated with him in the heavenly realms.

Predestined in order that the hope we’ve placed in Jesus might be for the praise of His glory.

Raised up in order that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of his grace, which He expressed to us in His kindness by sending His one and only Son to take our place on the cross.

We were created to be in perfect fellowship with God and live out our earthly life walking in His will. The challenges, struggles and trials we face are not given to us by a mean, distant or totalitarian God. Rather, He allows these things in order that we will choose to continue to praise Him (and prove the accuser wrong!). In order that His rich grace will be poured out. In order that all will have the opportunity to hear the good news of the gospel and choose Jesus!
