Shamless Audacity

fullsizeoutput_a34

I’m reading the devotional, “Draw the Circle,” by Mark Betterson. Today’s reading is about prevailing in prayer according to Luke 11:8. As I was reading, I kept asking myself, “Does God’s word really say shameless audacity?” Sure enough, right there in the NIV translation….shameless audacity. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read this parable and those words have not stood out to me until today.

The Greek word is ἀναίδεια and literally means shamelessness as it relates to carrying out God’s plan with unembarrassed boldness, in dignity of faith. It is the faith-led believer who isn’t concerned with human fears even when they are being accused of being extreme or excessive.

I want to live everyday in shameless audacity. So strongly connected to my Lord and Savior Jesus that I am the bold ambassador to His kingdom that he has called me to be. Throwing human fears to the pit because Jesus is my strong shelter and His banner over me and mine is love.

Shameless and dignified because of Jesus. Persistent in prayer and he will surely give you all that you need.

Shalom!

The Booty

fullsizeoutput_a16

I just love God’s sense of humor! My verse this year is Isaiah 49:25. I was thanking God for returning the plunder the enemy has stolen throughout our ancestral lifetime and on a whim I looked up plunder in this verse and it literally means booty!

Isaiah 49:25 connects to my verse from 2017; Joel 2:25. Both verses are numbered 25. A coincidence? Maybe, but, then again, I don’t believe in coincidences. Last year God promised to restore everything the locusts had eaten. Believe me, I have held onto that verse for dear life! Now, he promises to retrieve the boo…er plunder the enemy has stolen!

Many, many times God will direct us to His promises in His word but we may not see them materialize in the physical right away. Sometimes we have to wait a really long time. PLEASE don’t give up! God is faithful, he can be nothing less. Faithfulness is His character.

Try this, move from praying about the promise He is giving you to thanking Him for producing His promise. This doesn’t guarantee you’ll receive His promises sooner than His perfect timing, BUT, you are praising and giving Him glory for something you haven’t even experienced yet. That is a faith booster!

May you always boldly approach His throne of grace.

Shalom!

Don’t Stop Short

Screen Shot 2018-01-07 at 2.21.24 PM

I  wonder why Abraham stopped short of asking God to save Sodom and Gomorrah for ten righteous people. Yes, the sins of these cities was severe and surely God’s heart was incredibly broken. But, Abraham had already established that he was being bold and God had established that he would answer Abraham’s multiple requests that began with fifty righteous down to ten.

The angels of the Lord even warned Abraham’s nephew, Lot, about the coming disaster telling him to gather his wife, two daughters and both sons-in-law (six people) and flee the area quickly.

What if Abraham would have asked God to spare these cities for the sake of his relatives living there?

Sometimes, perhaps many, we stop short of asking God for what is really on our heart or we ask out of the alignment of his will. The work of Jesus on the cross gives us the ability to approach God and ask big, bodacious things.

You will never know unless you ask.

Shalom!

This Little Light of Mine

fullsizeoutput_63c.jpeg

It is said that a Chinese military strategist wrote a message on a sky lantern summoning help when enemy troops began encroaching his position.

This morning as I was praying I saw a single sky lantern hanging on a shepherd’s hook gently swaying in the breeze. As I asked God about this lantern Psalm 119:105 came to mind. I then saw feet fitted with ancient sandals and I as I continued to pray and ask God about these sandals and how they fit with the vision of the sky lantern He gave me Isaiah 52:7.

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that brings good tidings, that publishes peace; that brings good tidings of good, that publishes salvation; that says unto Zion, Your God reigns! Isaiah 52:7; emphasis added.

Isaiah 52:7 happens to be one of my life verses for the ministry that God has called me to participate in with others throughout the Body of Christ and use the gifts of speaking, teaching and writing that Holy Spirit has blessed me with.

This is what I believe Jesus wants you and me to understand. He is the Good Shepherd and the Light of the world. He has left all of us to walk in His sandals sharing the Good News of the gospel. As we do He lights our path and our feet so we can see clearly where he is calling us. He illuminates the position of the enemy and gives us his Word with detailed instructions on how to walk victoriously amid the attacks of Satan.

Precious One your Light is a beacon to all those being saved. LET.IT.SHINE!

Shalom!

Third Time is Providence

file_000-162

Have you heard the sayings, “Third time’s a charm?” Or, “Things always happen in three’s?” I like to say, “Third time is Providence,” because charm simply conjures up for me the essence of the enemy. He walks in like a prince charming and then lays his deception and destruction. Look at Eve, Satan charmed her by appealing to her desire to have her significance filled be something other than God…the fruit., which gave her knowledge of good and evil, something God never intended us to have or the fruit would have never been forbidden. And, things always happening in three’s, well to me that is what many call coincidental and I don’t believe in coincidences I believe in the Holy Trinity – Father, Spirit, Son. I know, you probably want to refute this by bringing to my attention all the public figures that seem to pass in waves of three’s. If that is God’s will then that is Providence!

Our family has been struggling with some health concerns that have brought stress and anxiety and as I continue to cry out to God he keeps giving me Joel 2:25-26. For the third time this year I have read or heard a prophetic message about these verses in Joel.

“I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten-the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm-my great army that I sent among you. You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the LORD your God, who has worked wonders for you; never again will my people be shamed.” Joel 2:25-26.

Whatever you are going through, if you believe in Christ Jesus, if you allow faith to prevail over hopelessness then restoration is on nigh. Not only that but God promises that you will have plenty to eat, until you are full and you will praise the name of the LORD you God! I’m not saying it is easy and many times God’s word uses the analogy of a woman giving birth, the pushing, the sweating, the tears and the pain, to express what it will take to get to your breakthrough, but once you are holding that sweet, precious newborn in your arms all the hard work is forgotten.

Precious One, press in, seek God and don’t give up! I’m telling myself this as well.

Providence – the only Three you need.

Shalom!
